Leading supplier of fluid transfer systems to the oil and gas offshore industry, Flexible Engineered Solutions International (FES) announces the release of a new hydraulically operated ROV Hot Stab, developed to ensure quick transfer of fluids without the need for a diver.
An ROV Hot Stab is a high pressure subsea connector used to link into mud systems for intervention or emergency operations on offshore sites. Suitable for use with subsea pigging, chemical or gas injections including floor and vent operations, the connector can be used on new and retrofit offshore rigs enabling an alternative entry point into a mud system.
With this in mind, FES International has invested time and money to bring a new product to market that offers more efficient and safer connections when operating at high pressures.

“For larger sizes of Hot Stabs of four inches and above, where the insertion forces are higher, we have developed a unique hydraulically operated product that enables a quick and safe transfer of fluids via a remote, single operation engagement/disengagement function.”
“The benefits of this system are clear to see. It is safer as a diver is not required for manual connection. As a direct result connection and disconnection can be performed more quickly and for less money.”
FES Hot Stabs incorporate a double-valve protection seal to reduce the risk of leakage and can operate at pressure ranges of up to 15,000 psi. With a range of receptacles and multipath connector systems, the FES range offers mechanical locking and interchangeable sizes and model ranges from API 17D – API 17H.
